Brush-On Wearpads
Have you ever wished you could just paint a new coating of rubber onto the bottom of your rafts?

Well now you can. Man of Rubber's Brush-On Wearpads is a two part urethane (comes in black only) that dries in under an hour to a medium hard rubber that is both abrasion resistant and flexible. Easy to apply to either Hypalon/Neoprene type boats or PVC/Urethane type boats with either a disposable brush or trowel.

Brush-on Wearpads cures to a slick, shiny black surface that is both durable and permanent. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes or so when air temps are 85°, will dry in about an hour or so when air temps are 60°.

Brush-On Wearpads is 90% cured over night and boats may be put back into service the next day. Boats may then be rolled and/or folded with no problem after a couple of days when material is fully cured.

First, "buff" or abrade the surface (see below for abrasive wheels), apply our special primer and let dry to the touch (about 30 minutes) and the apply the Brush-On Wearpads. The primer is sold in 1/4 pint cans which will cover about 10 square feet and Brush-On Wearpads is sold in one pound containers which will cover about 7-8 square feet when applied approx. 3/32" thick. If you wish, you can apply it in a thicker layer and get less coverage or brush it out into a thinner layer and get more since the thickness of the layer does not affect how it sets up.

Brush-On Wearpads cannot be thinned. We do not recommend mixing partial batches since the ratio between the resin and curing agent is extremely critical (77 to 23 by weight). Therefore we recommend that you have enough area prepared to use the entire 1 lb. container.

Is Brush-on Wearpads Just For Rafts?
No! Brush-on Wearpads will work almost anywhere you have an abrasion or wear problem. Works on Hypalon or neoprene rafts as well as all types of plastic and urethane rafts. It works on wooden oar tips, wet suits, spray skirts, dry bags, fiberglass... ...we even have a special primer that will make it stick to metal.

Fast Cure Brush-on Wearpads
Looking for something a little faster and easier to mix. How about a 5 minute cure time? How about no hand mixing? Well here it is. This material comes in 400ml cartridges that are inserted into a special manual or pneumatic gun. An auto mixer nozzle is attached to the end of the cartridge and you are ready to fire. As the material is forced through the nozzle, it is completely mixed and comes out ready to apply. Brush it on fast however, because in 5 minutes it's dry. In an hour or so its 90% cured and fully cured a few hours later. Then if you didn't use all of it, just remove the auto mixer nozzle reseal the cartridge and the remainder stays unmixed and ready to use the next time you need it. No mess and no waste. Uses the same primer as the regular Brush-on Wearpads.

TOOLS
Abrasive Wheels - work in any variable speed drill. Use these wheels to "buff" the surface of inflatable boats. Most adhesives, paints and coatings will not stick to an inflatable boat unless the surface has been abraded to eliminate the "shine". Do not abrade so much that you expose the base cloth.
